SOLUKHUMBU, Oct 21: A Russian climber has been killed while descending from 6812 meter high Mount Ama Dablam after successfully climbing the summit here in Khumjung-7 on Monday morning.
According to DSP Chandra Dev Rai at District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as Mupad Ashurly, 42.
He died after he veered off some 600 meters as the fixed rope broke out while descending from Base camp-2 to Base camp-1 of the peak this morning.
According to police, Ashurly was one of the members of 7-member Mount Ama Dablam expedition team.Seven Summit Treks Pvt. Ltd. was the organizer of the expedition.
Police further informed that they are yet to rescue and recover the body due to extreme weather.
